The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS), Bikaner is a recently constituted body corporate built up under sub area (3) of segment 1 of the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Act, 2010. The University came into presence on 13th day of May, 2010 with His Excellency the Governor of Rajasthan as the Chancellor of the University. Educator A.K. Gahlot was named as first Vice-Chancellor of the University. The Headquarter of Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences are situated at Bikaner.
The University has modern types of gear and very much prepared offices for execution of real three organs of University, i.e., Teaching, Research and Extension. Under this University, there are presently three constituent colleges, one each at Bikaner; Navania, Vallabhnagar (Udaipur) and Jaipur. Rajasthan is the first State in the nation to have Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in Veterinary Education.
The College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner was set up in 1954 in legacy structures. The College recompenses college level of B.V.Sc. &A.H. what's more, offers M.V.Sc. course in 15 subjects, M.Sc. in one subject and Ph.D. by course work in 12 disciplines. There are seven Livestock Research Stations at Bikaner, Beechhwal (Bikaner), Kodamdesar (Bikaner), Chandan (Jaisalmer), Nohar (Hanumangarh), Navania, Vallabhnagar (Udaipur) and Bojunda (Chittorgarh). The University additionally has 65 foundations giving 2 years Diploma Program in Animal Husbandry after 10+2 spread over entire Rajasthan delivering around 3000 para-vets every year. These establishments are in Bikaner, Alwar, Bharatpur, Churu, Dausa, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Karauli, Kota, Bundi, Baran, Sriganganagar, Sikar, Tonk and Udaipur. Four new important centers started at Post Graduate Institute for Veterinary Education and Research, Jaipur; LRS, Chandan; LRS, Nohar and CVAS, Navania (Udaipur) have likewise begun offering Diploma in Animal Husbandry as constituent units, other than the one at the College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner. The Research focus situated at Jaipur has been changed over to Post Graduate Institute for Veterinary Education and Research encouraging PG courses in three streams.
Mission
The University has following objectives, which are as –
· Undertaking extension education programme.
· Facilitating the progression of learning and conducting the research
· Setting up imperative linkages with the concerned line divisions working in the fields of creature farming, fisheries and dairy improvement, creature innovation in the State, by whatever name called, administered by the Government of Rajasthan and in addition the Central Government.
