PROMOTION OF MEDICINAL PLANTS & ORGANIC FARMING: ADVANTAGE SC-STS

The crops, french bean, tomato are grown throughout the year. ough Jharkhand is a mineral rich state, more than 70% of the population depend on agriculture. The main crop is paddy grown by al- most all the farmers mainly in kharif season. The horticulture crops like fruits, vegetables, spices etc are also grown by the farmers and some vegetables like cole.

Jharkhand has huge potential for organic farming and, therefore, the State government has already started developing 3000 clusters across Jharkhand for promotion of organic farming. Currently the total area (in ha) in the state is 52,305.73.

The state is rich in bio-diversity of medicinal plants. The forest area covers about 40% of the total area of Jharkhand. About 32 tribal communities are dominating in different regions and are using medicinal plants by traditional knowledge. More than 160 species of plants having their medicinal value are used by such tribal communities which lack modern medical facilities. However, still the knowledge is inadequate and needs further knowledge in full spectrum.

Therefore, the Confederation of Organic Food Producers & Marketing Agencies is holding the above summit-cum-Expo to maintain the great diversity of plant species to improve human suffering in the long run. The Summit will motivate the farmers, investors and the institutions so that more effort should be given in cultivation and processing of such medicinal plants which are at the level of extinction.

औषधीय पौधों और जैविक खेती का प्रचार: लाभ अनुसूचित जाति-अनुसूचित जनजाति

फसलें, फ्रेंच बीन, टमाटर साल भर उगाई जाती हैं। हालांकि झारखंड एक खनिज समृद्ध राज्य है, 70% से अधिक आबादी कृषि पर निर्भर है। मुख्य फसल लगभग सभी किसानों द्वारा मुख्य रूप से खरीफ मौसम में उगाई जाने वाली धान है। बागवानी फसलें जैसे फल, सब्जियां, मसाले आदि भी किसानों द्वारा उगाई जाती हैं और कुछ सब्जियां जैसे कोल।

झारखंड में जैविक खेती की बहुत बड़ी संभावना है और इसलिए, राज्य सरकार ने जैविक खेती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए पूरे झारखंड में 3000 क्लस्टर विकसित करना शुरू कर दिया है। वर्तमान में राज्य में कुल क्षेत्रफल (हेक्टेयर में) 52,305.73 है।

राज्य औषधीय पौधों की जैव-विविधता से समृद्ध है। वन क्षेत्र झारखंड के कुल क्षेत्रफल का लगभग 40% है। लगभग 32 आदिवासी समुदायों का विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में दबदबा है और पारंपरिक ज्ञान से औषधीय पौधों का उपयोग कर रहे हैं। औषधीय महत्व वाले पौधों की 160 से अधिक प्रजातियों का उपयोग ऐसे आदिवासी समुदायों द्वारा किया जाता है जिनके पास आधुनिक चिकित्सा सुविधाओं का अभाव है। हालाँकि, अभी भी ज्ञान अपर्याप्त है और पूर्ण स्पेक्ट्रम में और ज्ञान की आवश्यकता है।

इसलिए, लंबे समय में मानव पीड़ा में सुधार के लिए पौधों की प्रजातियों की महान विविधता को बनाए रखने के लिए जैविक खाद्य उत्पादकों और विपणन एजेंसियों का परिसंघ उपरोक्त शिखर-सह-एक्सपो आयोजित कर रहा है। शिखर सम्मेलन किसानों, निवेशकों और संस्थानों को प्रेरित करेगा ताकि ऐसे औषधीय पौधों की खेती और प्रसंस्करण में अधिक प्रयास किया जाए जो विलुप्त होने के स्तर पर हैं।
