Common Name : Silk leaf Family : Asteraceae Habit: An annual herb, 50-100 cm tall. Stem: Sometimes purplish, with stipitate glandular hairs on young parts. Leaves: Opposite, simple, ovate, with toothed margin, 3-5 cm long; silky beneath. Flowers: Tiny white-cream colored flowers occur in a composite head 2-3 cm across. The heads are surrounded by silky leaves. Fruits: Achenes brown or black, 3 mm long, setuliferous near apex; pappus a minute crown, pubescent. Seeds: Subcylinderic, truncate at apex, reddish brown.
