Rabi Crop Types
Rabi crops or rabi harvest are rural crops that are planted in winter and harvested in the spring in India. The term is derived from the Arabic word for "spring", which is used in the Indian subcontinent, where it is the spring harvest (otherwise called the "winter crop").
In Indian farming, The rabi crops include wheat, barley, oats (cereals), chickpea/gram (pulses), linseed, garlic, cumin, coriander, mustard (oilseeds) etc.
In India the major rabi crop like wheat, mustard and peas harvested early. Most of the rabi crops including wheat, barley, oats (cereals), chickpea/gram (pulses), linseed, mustard planted in winter and harvested in the spring season in India. In the type of rabi crop, we can simply divide in some category like food crops, feed crops, fibre crops, oil crops, ornamental crops, and industrial crops.
