The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is one of the popular University, which came into being on June 1, 1971. However, it had its genesis from foundation of an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, as ahead of schedule as 1868 and it was later moved at Coimbatore. In the year 1920, it was affiliated to Madras University. In 1920 it was associated to Madras University. Till 1946, the Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore, was the main Institute for Agricultural Education for the entire of South India.
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is a one of the leading agrotechnology provider supplier of India and its graduates and provides the various courses that are recognized throughout the world. The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) had its genesis from foundation of an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Indiawhich was later migrated at Coimbatore during 1906.
The University is offering 13 Undergraduate Degree Programs, 40 Graduate Degree Programs and 26 Doctoral Programs in 14 Colleges distributed in 11 campuses all over Tamil Nadu. TNAU has 36 Research Centers for agrotechnology advancement and 14 Farm Science Centers for effort.
Mission
To co-ordinate all the research activities in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and to administer/ monitor the activities of Research Stations situated in different parts of Tamil Nadu.
