Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute is the top fourth Agricultural College built up under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The College was initially begun at Kumulur, close Lalgudi in Tiruchirappalli area in the year 1989 and moved to the present campus grounds Navalur Kuttappattu town, 14 kilometer from Tiruchirappalli town in 1992. The present area was stated with ICAR financing and the Agricultural Research Station was begun with TNAU subsidizing. The inside was named as Kumaraperumal Farm Science Center because of the liberal gift of Rs.2.2 lakhs by Th.K.P.Kaliappapillai the child of Mr. Kumaraperumal. In 1980, it was overhauled as Soil Salinity Research Center by National Agricultural Research Project subsidizing to lead research on saline soil which is remarkable around there. This is one of the spearheading focuses in India on issue soil, especially salt influenced soils.
Objectives
• To work as an instructive establishment to offer undergrad B.Sc., (Ag.) degree program.
• To arrange bury disciplinary exploration for tackling the area particular issues for the distinctive biological circumstances in Tiruchirappalli and neighboring locale especially in the salt influenced soils.
• To develop crop assortments and advancements most appropriate for salt influenced soils.
• To take care of the demand for innovative labor of the State and Private business people.
• To give specialized expertise to the advancement of Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-based commercial enterprises in this area.
• To compose innovation exchange through preparing of ranchers and in a joint effort with the State Agricultural Department of Tamil Nadu.
