Assam Agricultural University is one of the first institutions of its kind which is situated in the whole of North-Eastern Region of India. AAU follow the main goals is to produce the globally competitive human resources in human sectors that used in research purposes by using the conventional methods and may be used as frontier areas for production and optimization as well as used to separate out the generated technologies which is mainly used as public goods for getting the benefits the food growers or food producers and the traders involved in the complete while it mainly stressing on supportability, value and general sustenance security at family unit level.
In order to achieve this, our university is believes to follow the following support base that lead the overall agriculture and farming sector of the state towards more profitability with proper experimental methodology. At present, there are 5 Colleges, 6 Regional Agricultural Research Stations (RARS), 6 Commodity Research Centres and 19 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) throughout the state with its head quarter at Jorhat.
Mission
To fill up the skills gap in agriculture, farming and allied sectors to pre-position the state to battle the developing challenges in farming, agriculture and make sure that to increase the productivity in agro-based animal fish crops on the substance of contracting/divided area property, maintain the soil health, decreasing the water resources and increased the human population.
Vision
Provisioning of value human resources to encourage innovative technology which led to agricultural growth ensuring both production and environmental sustainability, targeting a minimum of 4%+ agricultural development while tending to the issues of family nutritious security, farmers pain, trade in farming and additionally local, national and worldwide nourishment provides in food crisis exploiting imaginative innovation, business changes and liberalization.
