The Punjab Agricultural University is one of famous Agricultural University in Punjab, which was built up in 1962 to serve in Punjab state. After the partition of Punjab in November 1966, Haryana Agricultural University was cut out of PAU by an Act of Parliament in February 1970. Later, in the month of July 1970, Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidalya was built up and well established. In the year 2006, College of Veterinary Science was moved up to wind up Guru AngadDev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU) at Ludhiana. The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is situated in Ludhiana city (Punjab State) in north-west India at a separation of 316 km from New Delhi. It is all around joined by street and rail with the national capital. It is situated in Ludhiana - Ferozepur Road.
